Summer Bridge Program

Each summer, the University of North Alabama’s TRIO Student Support Services offers the Summer Bridge Program to support incoming freshmen and transfer students as they transition into college life. Designed with the lived experiences of first-generation students, students with limited income, and students with disabilities in mind, the program provides early access to academic expectations, campus resources, and a supportive learning community.

Through a combination of educational sessions, experiential activities, and community-building opportunities, Summer Bridge helps students build confidence, develop connections, and begin their academic journey prepared for success.

Program Activities May Include:
  • Roar Lions: Introduction to the University of North Alabama
  • Campus and Shoals area exploration
  • Academic readiness and understanding college expectations
  • Financial aid education and resource navigation
  • Campus involvement and student engagement opportunities
